However, before knitting, you should recall the simple rules for calculating loops for the future shirt-front. It is often customary to take into account the following formula: 1 cm - 2-3 loops. However, this is very inaccurate data, since the thickness of the yarn, the density of the pattern, the size of the hook and the manner of knitting the needlewoman play a large role in this matter. Therefore, for starters, you should associate a sample of a future product, for example, with a size of 10 cm. The number of loops included in the sample will be the most reliable indicator. Many also advise ironing the sample through gauze before counting. Thus, you can save yourself from mistakes and the dissolution of knitting, thereby saving time and nerves.
How to tie a simple model for a child
Let's try to start with a simple but beautiful model of a shirt shirt for babies, convenient in that it fastens with buttons. The color of the yarn here will be decisive in the issue of knitting products for a boy or for a girl. This simple crochet shirt for a child is suitable for the age of 1.5-2 years. Crochet the shirt-front with a different age can be done simply by recounting the number of loops.
Materials for work:
- Pecherka children's yarn (200 m / 50 g) - 1.5 skeins;
- buttons - 5 pieces;
- hook number 2.
Workflow with step-by-step photographs:
Dial a chain of air loops (35 loops +1 for lifting). Knit a strip with single crochet in this width (35 stitches).
Important: to get the effect of elastic, you need to stretch a new loop only by the back wall of the previous row.
The result should be a strip. According to this example, 60 rows came out. In order not to make a mistake with the size, in the process of knitting should try on a strip on a child’s neckfolding it in half lengthwise. The resulting ring should not tightly fit the neck, but should not be too loose.
Tie one end of the strip with single crochet. It is logical that the number of loops will be equal to the number of rows of strips, which in this case is 60 loops.
Next, you need to knit according to the raglan principle. Take the diagram below as a basis, this is a classic version of raglan crochet. Important: on the diagram there are double crochet, for our model you need to knit single crochet, also for the back wall of the previous row. It seemed to me one air loop, forming an angle, I knit 3 air loops in each turn of the canvas.
The calculation of the loops on the shoulders, front and back is simple: divide the total by 4, this will be one side (whether it is the back, shoulder or front). In this case, 60 loops are divided by 4, resulting in 15 loops. At the front of the back, an extra 3 loops are taken. Before divided into 2 (because the shirt-front is planned on buttons, respectively - there will be 2 shelves).
As you add rows, the width of each part will increase.
And if you fold the stripe of the collar in half along, as during fitting, and lay out the rest according to the resulting angles, the product will already begin to resemble its final appearance.
Next, 16 rows of raglan are knitted. It is convenient to determine the required size by trying on a blank for a child’s clothes (the edges of the product should almost coincide with the lines of the shoulders on the blouse).
Knit the front shelves to the length that is planned under the buttons. In our case, 14 rows are knitted.
In the process of knitting the 15th row, connect both shelves, separating them with three air loops. Thus, the width of the front and back is equalized (remember, we “took away” 3 loops per back when calculating loops on the sides of the raglan?). The gap formed between the shelves is necessary for convenience. If the shelves will be located close to each other - there will be no room for buttons.
Add a few more rows - in this case 8.
Left shelf
Tie it around the edge with single crochet posts. When you reach the collar, tie both its halves at the same time. The top will not puff, interfere with the sock. Knit 3 more rows of single crochet along this edge.
Important:the resulting strip of 4 rows of strapping ideally closed the distance between the shelves. For this purpose, those 3 air loops that separated the right and left shelf served.
Right shelf
Tie the hem with double crochet. The second row - also columns without a crochet, with arches from air loops at an equal distance from each other. The size of the arch depends on the selected buttons, try on. Third row - single crochet.
Tie the edge of the product with any border option, for example, the simplest “fans” of 4 double crochet columns. Sew on the buttons. The shirt-collar is ready!

To start knitting, you need to dial the desired number of air loops. It is important to remember that the elastic stretches, and so that it fits snugly against the throat, it is better to check the results obtained when measuring the sample. When recruiting, keep in mind that the final number of air loops should be a multiple of two, since the collar is knitted with a 2x2 elastic band.
The crocheted gum pattern is an alternation of front and back embossed columns (pc). In order to make it softer and more elastic, you can add an air loop between the columns.
The first row is crocheted with single crochet (st.bn), the hook is inserted into the third loop from it. The last art.connects to the first, in case you choose the round-neck neck knitting option (if you prefer a button-down shirt shirt, you need to finish the row with two air loops, then turn the product over and start the next row). Next will be described a method of knitting "round".
The second and subsequent rows begin with 2 vp lifting. The principle of knitting embossed columns is reduced to the following:
- The hook is inserted from the front side from right to left in the front loop of the previous row and a relief front (convex) crochet is knitted.
- A hook from right to left is introduced into the back loop of the previous row and the embossed purl (concave) crochet is crocheted.
- We continue the alternation of the front and back pc to the end of the row.

The scheme of the expanding part of the shirt-front is presented by one of the easiest ways. Adding loops can be achieved by crocheting in each loop two columns with two crochets.
The first row begins with 4 vp Next, we do two tbsp. with two crochets in each loop. We conclude a series of st-com with two nak-mi.
The second row also begins with 4 air. pet. In the next loop one art. with 2 nak-mi, in the other two stations with 2 nak-mi. Thus, alternating the sequence to complete the series of Art. with 2 crochets.
Third row: 4th air pet., one st-ku with nak-ohm in the following two loops, then in two loops of two CCCH.
Fourth row: 4th century n, in the next 3 p. one art. with two nak-mi, and two tbsp. with two next in the next.
Fifth row: 4th VP, in 4 loops, one st-ku with two knots, and then two st. with two nak-mi in the next loop.
The description of the knitting process indicates that with each row the number of loops increases in which one st-k with two knots is knitted, and only one st-k with two knots follows. Thus, it is necessary to knit from 8 to 15 rows. Depending on how much the product will cover the shoulders.
Starting from the 8th row, the columns can no longer be added, but connected to 1 st-ku with two nak-mi in kn. Having reached the desired length of the expanding part of the loop closes. At the same time, try not to tighten them strongly. Otherwise, the edges will turn out to be too tight and spoil the external impression, and also will not lie flat on the shoulders.

Next, we collect 3 air loops for lifting, make a crochet and start a hook under the lower crochet, stretch the loop and knit. It turns out a facial embossed column.
Now you need to tie the wrong embossed column. To do this, we twist and stretch the loop from the back.
I alternate front and back embossed columns, we should get this series. This is the so-called gum crochet.
After we knit 15 such rows, we knit another 15 rows with single crochet.
When these 15 rows are finished, it's time to proceed to the shoulder part of the shirt-front. We collect 3 air loops for lifting and knit the whole row with double crochets, adding another 10-15 columns to expand the product.
Now let's start knitting a pattern, which we will knit according to the scheme below. Here we just need hooks of different thicknesses.
