Ingredients:
- Oranges 1-2 pieces
- 1 zest of orange
- Flour 150 grams
- Sugar 300 grams
- Water 100 ml.
- Baking powder 0.5 tsp
- 4 eggs
- Butter 150 grams
- Powdered sugar 1 teaspoon
- Sprigs of mint for decoration
Cooking method:
Step 1. Mix and bring to a boil 100-120 grams of sugar with water (the syrup should slightly thicken).
Step 2 Put oranges in thin slices in syrup and over low heat, under a lid, boil them for 7-8 minutes.
Step 3Beat remaining sugar with eggs. Then put in the same dishes pre-softened butter, knead it thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Now pour the zest of one orange and mix everything well again.
Step 4Mix flour with baking powder, gradually introduce it into the resulting egg-oil mixture. The dough will turn out quite light and liquid.
Step 5 Cover the baking dish with parchment, put the orange mugs boiled in syrup on the bottom. Here you can experiment: the appearance of the cake will ultimately depend on how you put the oranges. For example, you can lay them out in the form of a flower, it is very simple and at the same time beautiful.
Step 6 Now, carefully, so as not to displace the laid out orange mugs, pour them with dough, flatten it - and you can send the cake to the oven, preheated to 200 degrees. Bake a pie with oranges for 25-30 minutes, slightly reducing the heat so that the temperature is at 180 degrees.
Step 7 Willingness to check with a toothpick or a splinter: when there is no trace of dough on them - the cake is ready. Now get the cake out of the oven, wait for it to cool, and only then remove it from the mold, turn it over and remove the parchment. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and garnish with sprigs of mint.
Bon Appetit!
