Ingredients:
- White cabbage 2 kg.
- Carrots 1 kg.
- Apples 2 pieces
- Lemon or lime 1 piece
- Salt 3 tbsp. spoons
- Boiled water 500 ml.
Cooking method:
Step 1. Separate and set aside the top 10 large leaves of cabbage (preferably without damage). Chop the rest of the cabbage. Grate the carrots, cut the apple into strips. Stir with cabbage and carrots. Add lemon juice to the mixture.
Step 2 Then add salt and thoroughly mash the cabbage with your hands, mixing with salt, leave for 30 minutes.
Step 3 Add boiled water, ram the vegetables tightly into jars. Leave a blank space before the cover in a couple of centimeters.
Step 4 Now put in each jar previously deposited cabbage leaves on top of the vegetable mixture, pour the remaining brine. Close and refrigerate. When serving, it is recommended to use the top sheets as a basis for laying out snacks.
Step 5 Crisp cabbage and carrots are an excellent combination that allows you to remember the warm summer in the winter cold. Such a mixture is well stored in the refrigerator, in the basement, and on the balcony.
