Ingredients:
- Wheat flour 900 grams
- Butter 75 grams
- Milk 120 ml.
- Water 120 ml.
- Fresh yeast 40 grams
- Sugar 160 grams
- Chicken egg 3 pieces
- Mahlep 5 grams
- Sesame 4 tbsp. spoons
Cooking method:
Step 1. Dissolve the yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar and salt.
Step 2 Pour a couple of tablespoons of flour, mix and let the dough rise for about 15 minutes, until the foam forms a “cap”.
Step 3 Beat eggs with water and sugar. Pour into dough. Add melted butter, mahlep, flour.
Step 4Knead soft dough, cover with a dry cloth and put in heat for 1.5 hours.
Step 5 The dough should increase well in volume. Put it with your hands.
Step 6 Divide the dough into 2 parts. Each part - in another 4 parts. Roll up harnesses. Do not add flour.
Step 7 Weave two pigtails (for each pigtail use 4 tows), such a pigtail will be more voluminous and beautiful. In the first version of the cake, just grease it with yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. In the second version, insert three hard-boiled eggs into the Easter cake. Eggs must first be greased with vegetable oil so as not to stick to the dough. Send cakes to the oven for 40 minutes, temperature - 180 degrees.
Step 8 Bake until golden brown.
