Modern mothers know firsthand how difficult it is to make a child break away from gadgets, even if you organize outdoor activities. I also encountered this, so I had to urgently come up with a new way to captivate my daughter around the world. What came of this?
I turned an ordinary walk in the park into a real game and a treasure hunt. And I will share this trick with you!
Of course, I had to prepare for this. To correctly organize an interesting and informative game, I had to prepare in advance:
- The book "Bingo" with images of plants and insects;
- Cards for promotion;
- Prizes
- Stickers (also felt-tip pens).
All the efforts spent as a result more than paid off!
I called the book “Bingo” for a reason. On each page half the size of a sheet, A4 painted plants and insects, writing their names next to them.
Example:
Maple Leaf + Ladybug + Dandelion + Stone
Another variant:
Violet + pansies + lupine + poppy
However, choosing objects to search should carefully select a place. Therefore, the first option will be most relevant. The second is better when visiting special places, for example, a botanical garden.
I painted the rest of the sheets in the same way. In principle, if the walk is short, and the time for preparation is short, you can make a separate sheet of Bingo.
I borrowed the idea from the American game "Treasure Hunt".
Let's move on to the question of why stickers and felt-tip pens. They will be needed so that the child marks the found objects.
You can make small circles near the drawings so that they can be painted over if necessary, just like in a bingo game.
I just got round emoticons and also for a reason.
Smiley stickers will help your child express their emotions when finding an item from the list.
Cards for rewards had to be divided into two types:
- Greens in full coincidence;
- Yellow - with partial.
If all the objects found match the drawings, the child needs to be given a green card. The more green cards for collecting the book he collects, the better the gift will be.
Although we all know that there will be one gift in any case)
The choice of rewards should also be approached wisely. For example, you can reward your child for trying ice cream, or you can pre-purchase tickets for an exhibition of plants or animals.
It is better to choose some kind of excursion, where later it will be possible to conduct a re-game.
Often after such games, kids take an active interest in the environment and some even find a new hobby.
Another version of the game “Treasure Search” is also based on the search for objects from the drawings. But for this, the child still needs to prepare a basket in which he will collect the found treasure.
But let's teach children to love and protect nature. Do not ask them to pick a flower or catch a bug.
You can also specify the colors of leaflets or flowers for a greater variety during the search.
My daughter's favorite variation was the search for herbarium leaves.Now we have more than 10 different types of leaflets of different shapes and sizes. And we have not ripped off a single one!
Have you tried to turn an ordinary walk into a real treasure hunt? Or are you ready to try now?)
