Who is the Martyr John the Warrior?
Slav John lived in the fourth century AD. At the beginning of his life, he was a warrior in the service of Roman Caesar Flavius Claudius Julian, nicknamed the Apostate, during which John participated in the persecution of Christians. In modern terms, he was a double agent. As a Roman soldier, John helped captive Christians to escape, gave them information about the upcoming raids and helped the wounded.
